HISTORY
Arrowstar Roofing & Construction owner David Locklear is a third-generation roofing contractor that has worked in the Oklahoma roofing business for more than 35 years.
The Locklear family roofing tradition began in 1942 in southwest Oklahoma, with Dave's grandfather Harley and father Bob. The Locklears roofed mostly flat-roof schools and business in those days, but soon expanded to include general residential structures as well.
One of the Locklears' first hot tar roofs was completed by melting tar in a steel barrel by burning firewood beneath it. The melted tar was then carried by bucket up a ladder. Harley and Bob's helper was, Nellie, Dave's grandmother.
Needless to say, the roofing business has come a long way since then!
The Locklear family tradition of excellence continues to this day with fourth-generation Tim Locklear managing the Arrowstar office in northwest Oklahoma City. Operations at Arrowstar have expanded to include not only hot tar, but also EPDM, TPO, siding and general construction, along with standing seam metal roofs for commercial and residential.
